Buckets are in!
And my mylar bags, and O2 absorbers, and the foodsaver.
And I ordered 3 100 gram bars today (total 9.645 troy ounce), so I guess my conversion into a GIM lunatic is just about complete. I bought 4 gallon square buckets to cut down on storage space with 16" x 24" mylar bags (looks to be a good fit), and a case of 750 cc oxygen absorbers. Does everyone pre-freeze their grains and beans to kill moth larvae, or will the O2 absorbers take care of that? |

Yeah, there was a massive discussion on weavils about a year ago. Basically if you use O2 absorbers or CO2 you won't have any insect problems as they do need oxygen to live. Avalon was big into the diatanasious earth which will work, but I think that is overkill. Still, I'd hate to open it up and find it spoiled |

Good for you , your well on your way :applause_ I can't see how bugs could survive without O2, 4 of those 750cc OAs per bucket might be a slight over kill but I would rather be safe. |
